| Most famous for the bread made by this household name in baking, Richard Bertinet and his team also produce a selection of fantastic cakes, brownies, viennoiserie and tarts. Richard was born, raised and trained as chef in France before moving to England. With his wife Jo, he decided to set up a cookery school in a beautiful and accessible place in England to teach people how to make bread. Several best-selling cookery books later, Bertinet also opened two consumer outlets in central Bath. These shops came after demand for products during their limited Saturday opening hours far exceeded supply. Visit for truly exceptional breads and sweet treats and enjoy on vintage china in the café upstairs or take away to indulge at home. Specialities include elaborate layered cakes and French tarts like Pear Bordaloue and Tarte Normande. |
