| An unassuming bakery in the heart of Newcastle's Grainger Market, the queues at the French Oven are an indication of the quality of their produce. Serving a wide selection of sweets from canelles to loaf cake, a range of traditional British coconut macaroons as well as mulitcoloured French macarons; the cake menu changes according to popular trend and new additions are presented weekly. As tastes change so too does what is on offer and a planned refurbishment in January 2014 will ensure greater shelving for even more cake varieties and a switch to the more elegant French style patisserie, welcoming a new truffle counter amongst other developments. |
