Stepping into Patisserie Julien Plumart is like being transported into a modern Parisian patisserie. The ground floor room is dominated by a waist-level counter giving you a birds-eye view of a range of gorgeous creations that, pleasingly, taste as good as they look.
The signature here is in the macarons, as signalled by the French quotation painted on the wall. Try Lemon Curd, Mojito, Black Forest or Lavender toffee. There are more than twenty-four macaron flavours lovingly created by Julien, positioning him as likely the leading macaron creator inside of Britain. All of the ingredients are of the highest quality, including Valrhona chocolate, French butter and Rare Tea Company tea. Despite his Swiss birth Julien has called Brighton home for more than five years and now with two boutiques to manage it's unlikely he'll be leaving anytime soon. Luckily for Brighton! |
