The Fourteas is a cutely named 1940s themed tearoom. Staff are dressed in period frocks, music plays from an old radio, there are wartime posters on the wall and period papers to read. There is even newspaper on a string on the toilet (fortunately proper tissue is provided as well). People come especially for the Ivor Novello afternoon teas - sandwiches made with delicious locally baked bread, homemade scones with jam and cream, a selection of small cakes made in house and a pot of house blend tea, served with a timer to ensure the perfect brew. Those who can’t manage it all can take the rest home in a gas mask box.
