Despite its relative youth, this luxury restaurant has emerged as one of London’s most reputable fine eateries. Uniquely modern yet colonial in feel, the opulent interior showcases chandeliers and a wooden finish. The venue is constantly buzzing - a sure sign of a special place. The selections of tea - although limited - are lovely. The Wolseley afternoon blend is a beautifully robust flavour, and an ideal accompaniment to the selection of sandwiches, scones and pastries available. The fruit scones are an ideal consistency - light with a slight crumble. The brilliant Battenburg achieves just the right blend of sugar and almonds. But the real treat is the tier of beautiful pastries which are evidence of pastry chef Regis Negrier’s incredible care and precision. Seasonal selections are perfectly balanced, no flavour, shape or colour dominates - delicate green pistachio macarons are complemented with rich, creamy cheesecake. Displayed on a silver stand with a silver tea pot, this elegant touch is sure to excite those looking for the ultimate English experience.
