Belle Epoque is a traditional French patisserie situated on Newington Green. Located in a breathtaking building that dates back to 1856, the café features authentic decor and shelves spilling over with French produce and exquisite cakes. Patrons have the choice of dining in a tea room or secluded garden. The setting is splendid, but the food and cakes remain the real draw. Owners Eric Rousseau and his wife Hülya handpick all the ingredients used in each pastry and viennoiserie. Every item is made by experienced pastry chefs using traditional French techniques to ensure creations are of the highest quality. The signature Belle Epoque cake with an orange crème brulée centre is a taste of heaven and the towering Croquembouche is as spectacular as the macarons are delicate.
