Outsider Tart is the story of two New Yorkers who moved to London and found wholesome cupcakes, slices and tarts hard to come by. Drawing on old family recipes, founders David Lesniak and David Muniz turned their favourite hobby - baking - into a business and started Outsider Tart. Upon entry, customers are greeted with an array of generously portioned square slices, cupcakes and cookies laid across a long steel bench featuring a retro rainbow stripe. The menu changes daily, but can include the irresistible Hepburn Brownie, Outsider Tart’s take on a macadamia and chocolate chip blondie. The texture is creamy and rich, slightly springy on the outside but gooey on the inside. Other delights include the Mile High Brownie and Gluten-Free Monster Slice. Treats are served in novel steel trays. The eclectic interior is designed by owner and architect David Lesniak and features oversized antique circus arrows lined with lights and rustic wooden shelves. American favourites such as Fruit Loops and Hershey’s Chocolate are also on display. Excellent service is always on hand. |
