The interior is nothing short of stunning and features ostrich-egg-toilet-pods, crystal-studded powder rooms, decadent lighting and a giant illuminated angel resembling an oversized jelly mould. Comfort food, divine signature sweets and decadent afternoon teas are available in the Parlour. Bookings are unnecessary. Here, the vibe is mellow, while still retaining an air of prestige. Signature sweet, the Q & C Gateau, does not disappoint. Served on floral fine china with delicate silver cutlery, the chestnut mousse is ornamented with confit chestnut, poached quince, blueberry compote, macaronade biscuit and macadamia. The perfect balance is hit – it is beautifully creamy but not too sweet. Extensive teas and a selection of exotic coffees are also available. Afternoon tea includes a selection of sandwiches, scones and pastries. Other options include champagne afternoon tea and cream tea. |
