Henry VIII loved Maids of Honour tarts so much, he locked away the secret recipe. Today this delightful bakery pays tribute to its namesake, and continues its tradition of creating melt-in-the-mouth sensations. Hand-baked with care, using natural and wholesome ingredients, the bakery has been practicing its long-established baking skills for the past 120 years. Today delectable pastries include old favourites like chocolate éclairs, croissants and custard slice. They also deal in Maids of Honour – delicious pastry tarts filled with lemon flavoured curd. The bakery also serves a traditional English afternoon tea, and a selection of refreshments. |
